Gwendolyn Ann Dennis' Obituary
Gwendolyn Ann Dennis, 70, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Kingwood. Born on April 17, 1955, in Houston, Texas, to Marjorie and William Davis, Gwen lived a life marked by spirit, resilience, and unapologetic authenticity.
She spent many years working as a records clerk for the Harris County Sheriff’s Department, where her attention to detail and dry wit became well known among her colleagues. Gwen had an unfiltered sense of humor and a deep love for conversation— especially with her children, who remember countless hours of laughter over life’s absurdities and her knack for getting temporarily banned from social media for “just speaking her mind.”
An outspoken freethinker, Gwen never shied away from voicing her truth, yet she listened with heart and sincerity when others shared their own. She carried strong opinions without harshness and had an uncommon gift for dialogue—turning disagreements into meaningful connections.
She is survived by her daughter Teresa Holmes and son-in-law Edward Holmes of Forney, Texas; her son Gary Dennis and daughter-in-law Kelly Dennis of Kingwood, Texas; her twin brother Glen Davis, his wife Susan Davis, and nephews Brian and Kevin of Channelview, Texas; and her beloved grandchildren: Deirdre, Jasper, Conrad, Sebastian, Ella, Ava, Theodore, Claire, and Finn.
Gwen was preceded in death by her father William Davis; her mother Marjorie Durden; her stepfather RB Durden; her brother George Durden; and her grandson Vincent Holmes.
Gwen’s memory will be carried forward in the laughter of her grandchildren, the stories retold at family gatherings, and in every bold opinion shared with love. She was, and will remain, unforgettable.
