Guineth Ann Bennett's Obituary
Guineth Ann Bennett, 89, of Houston, Texas, passed away November 22, 2021, in Houston, Texas. She was born September 19, 1932, to Howard and Laura Kate Bowlin in Tenaha, Texas. She married Thomas Clyde Bennett on March 16, 1950, in Houston, Texas. They were married for nineteen years.
She was a nurse with St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas for 26 years. She assisted as the secretary of Lori’s Dance Studio in Houston, Texas for 30 years. She was a member of the Black Battalion Drill Team and the Junior Swim Team of Sam Houston High School in Houston, Texas, and she was a faithful member of First Baptist Greens Bayou Church in Houston, Texas.
Guineth enjoyed spending time drawing, painting, and swimming, and she also enjoyed family gatherings. She enjoyed the time she spent working as a secretary at Lori’s Dance Studio where she was part of the performances and dance-related events. She loved the music, the dancing, and watching the children.
She is survived by her daughters: Jo Nell Bennett, Houston, Texas, Patricia Jackson, Houston, Texas, Lori Bennett Sharpless and spouse, Charles Sharpless, Pasadena, Texas; grandchildren: Corrie Fitch, Katie Fitch, Kendra Reyes, Kellie Jandt and spouse, Lance Jandt, Cullen Francis, Laurel Sharpless and Lindsey Sharpless; great grandchildren: Christopher Reyes, Jacob Reyes, Jonathan Reyes, Reid Jandt, Kenni Jandt and Raelynn Francis.
She is preceded in death by the father of her children Thomas Clyde Bennett and her parents, Howard Bowlin and Laura Kate Bowlin.
