Guadalupe Eloy Cardenas' Obituary
Guadalupe Eloy Cardenas, 88, of Houston, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on April 20, 1937, in Benavidez, Texas, he was the son of Narcisso and Eloysa Cardenas. Guadalupe built a life grounded in devotion, hard work, and deep affection for those he loved. On January 1, 1956, he married the love of his life, Enedina Ramirez, in Alice, Texas, marking the beginning of a partnership that would shape generations.
Guadalupe proudly served in the United States Army and later dedicated many years of work to a reed tubular company. Outside of his work, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures—going to the movies, listening to music, and most of all, spending time with his family. His presence was steady, warm, and full of quiet strength.
He is survived by his daughter Tillie Lamar Cardenas and her husband Juan Luis Tovar; his son Robert Anthony Cardenas and his wife Patricia Torrez Cardenas. He leaves behind eight grandchildren: Juan Luis Tovar Jr. (and his wife Yasmine), Joseph Tovar, Justin Maurice Tovar, Tiffany Marie Cardenas, Stephen Allen Cardenas (and wife Cecillia Rincon), Anissa Cheyenne Ruiz, Bianca Enedina Cardenas, and CeAnna Emilia Cardenas.
He is also cherished by eleven great‑grandchildren: Johnny Lionel Tovar, Julianna Layla Tovar, Jianna Lexi Tovar, Sophia Hoffman, Joseph Tovar Jr., Justin Maurice Tovar Jr., Gabriella Mae Tovar, Presleigh Rose Tovar, Dahlia Ayala, Diego Ayala, and Dimitri Ayala.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by his beloved wife Enedina Ramirez Cardenas and his son Ovidio Urbano Cardenas.
His legacy lives on in the family he nurtured, the values he instilled, and the love he shared so generously. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
