Grace G. Lopez's Obituary
Grace G. Lopez (Nina), age 64, died Friday July 9th, 2021. From her birth in Oakland, California on July 2nd, 1957, to her death she always enjoyed the company of family and friends, cooking the best southern cuisine you can imagine, and helping those in need until her health failed her. She was the third of five children born to Juanita Saldana. She spent a decade of her developing life in California, until moving with her family to Channelview, Texas in 1969. After graduating from Channelview High School in 1975, Grace dedicated over 30 years of her life working in administration for Houston’s up and coming medical schools from University of Houston to the University of Texas. In 2008, Grace moved back in with her mother in Channelview, to care for her permanently, where she resided until her passing.
Our family’s well-being was and always has been a top priority for Grace. She would be the very first person to rise up to the occasion when any one of us were in need. In 1997, her nephew Mark had a son named Tyler and her life would be forever changed that day. Grace cared for Tyler as if he were her own child, and taught him how to be strong, reliable, selfless, and to care for those we loved.
Grace is preceded in death by her stepfather Jim Saldana, and her two brothers Ronald Edward Lopez and Raul Lopez.
Left to honor and mourn her passing are her mother Juanita Saldana, her two brothers Daniel and John Lopez, her nieces Mindy and Cassie Lopez, and five nephews Mark, Johnny, and Tyler Lopez, and Devin and Tristan Lucas.
We would like to thank our church family and friends for always being there for Grace. She loved the Lord and loved her church family.
She dedicated her life to caring for other people, and now we send her off to be cared for by our heavenly father. Although we’re sad to see you go, what an amazing Grace you were.
