Gonzalo Tellez's Obituary
In the early morning hours of July 7, 2019, God saw fit to call the spirit of Gonzalo (Chalo) Tellez, 66 to his heavenly home. He was surrounded by family in Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jose Manuel.
Chalo was born to Hilario Tellez and Arminda Rodriguez on Saturday, January 10, 1953 in Cadereyta Jimenez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. As a young man, Chalo moved to the United States to provide a better life for his four children. He loved his family and worked hard as a welder to ensure his family was taken care of.
Chalo was known as a kind, loving, and caring person to all who knew him. He had a big heart and helped anyone in need. Chalo had a passion for fishing, enjoyed gardening, and loved watching the Astros play. Chalo met his current wife, Sylvia in 1998. They lived in Houston, TX and in Baytown, TX. However, they eventually settled in Channelview, TX where they built a life together filled with love and devotion.
Chalo was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his wife and partner of 21 years, Sylvia; his children: Gonzalo Telles Garza, Anabeli Telles Garza, Belinda Telles Garza, and Sergio Telles Garza; his step-daughters: Veronica Pacheco, Jessica Vargas, Cynthia Nieto, and Christina Salazar; 18 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers: Mario, Juan, Sergio, and Guadalupe; and three sisters: Silvia, Maria Teresa, and Bertha.
His battle with stage four lung cancer was sudden and brief. However, he fought a valiant fight for those who loved him. Throughout Chalo’s life, he touched many lives and will be forever missed by all those who knew him.
His family will be hosting his memorial service on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Pastor Donnie Simpson will officiate. The information is as follows:
