Gilbert Munguia's Obituary
🕊️ In Loving Memory of Gilbert Munguia
Gilbert Munguia, 64, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in his hometown. Born on August 18, 1961, to Carolina de la Cruz, Gilbert spent his life rooted in the heart of Houston, where he built a legacy of hard work, love, and laughter.
A true jack of all trades, Gilbert could fix just about anything and was always ready to lend a hand. Whether it was a broken pipe or a broken heart, he had a knack for making things whole again. His passion for football was unmatched—he lived and breathed the game, proudly rallying behind his beloved San Francisco 49ers with a spirited “Bang Bang Niner Gang!”
Gilbert married the love of his life, Sibia Alaniz, in Alvin, Texas, and together they built a beautiful life filled with devotion and joy. He was a proud father to his only daughter, Kristy Leigh Munguia, and a loving father-in-law to Ricardo William Gutierrez. His greatest joy came from being “Papa” to his cherished grandchildren, Hayleigh Gilbert Garcia and Ricky Jordan Gutierrez, who brought endless light to his days.
Gilbert will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will forever echo in the laughter of his grandchildren and the roar of a Sunday football game.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
🕯️ Rest easy, Gilbert. Your tools may be laid down, but your work lives on in all of us.
