Mrs. Geraldine Lloyd's Obituary
Geraldine (Gerry) Lloyd was born on March 14, 1930 in Colmesneil, Texas to George and Idell Pillows. She was the 2nd of 10 children. She attended Centerville schools. After high school graduation at the age of 16, Gerry arrived in Houston by bus and shortly after began her 38 year career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
In 1950 Gerry married Jack Raymond Lloyd. Gerry and Jack resided in Houston all their married lives, along with a weekend home in Cleveland, Texas for many years. Gerry and Jack had their first daughter Mary in 1956, and their second daughter Linda in 1962.
Gerry was known to all friends, family, and even strangers as joyful, generous, positive-thinking, and unselfish. Some of her favorite past times were gardening, crafts, ceramics, and reading. She also enjoyed weekend trips with her sisters and visiting with her brothers in East Texas. Gra’ma also relished spending time with, and spoiling, her grandchildren Stefanie and David.
Gerry cared for Jack for many years after his polio in 1954, and she never waivered from her devotion to him and her family. Gerry was a dedicated Christian all her life, teaching bible class, hosting youth groups, preparing food for the sick, and always encouraging others. She also never waivered in her devotion to her God.
Gerry is survived by her daughters Mary and Linda and their husbands Mark and Jeff; her grandchildren Stefanie and David and their spouses Andy and Krysta; her great-grandchildren Claire, Camdyn and Carson. Gerry is also survived by her siblings Letha, Marjorie, Sandra, Aubrey, Herman, Asa, James, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents George and Idell Pillows, brother George, sister Loraine, and her loving husband Jack Lloyd.
