Mr. Gary M. Yowell's Obituary
Gary M. Yowell came into this world on April 18, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was the 2nd of 3 children to bless the lives of his parents D. Yowell and Susie Olive Roden Yowell. After 73 years of blessing his family and friends, Gary was called to heaven and passed away on August 7, 2018. As a longtime resident of Houston and Channelview, Gary attended Channelview High School. He went on to begin a 48 year long career in Heavy Equipment, and was Owner and Operator of Gary’s Backhoe Service.
Gary was a strong, hardworking, outspoken man, who loved his children dearly, and had many pastime including Fishing, Tractor Pulls, boating and his Guns. He also enjoyed his trips to Walmart, snacking on fried chicken great tunes of the 70’s op, and Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton and Marty Robbins to name a few of his favorite singers.
While he had many friends, some of his most precious memories involved his friends, Wilma Pyle, Charles Allen, Wayne Luedicke, and of course his best pal, his dog Buddy.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his Son, Gary D. Yowell of Houston, Texas, his Sister Mary Zafra and husband Eddie of Baytown, Texas, Brother Don Yowell and his wife Iva, of Elephant Butte, New Mexico, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
