Mr. Forrest Alton Holy's Obituary
Forrest Alton Holy, 63, of Deer Park, TX was born on March 7, 1955 in El Paso, Texas to parents, Louis and Margaret Holy and passed away on Thursday April 12, 2018 in Pasadena, Texas.
Forrest attended C.E. King High School, and later went on to attend San Jacinto College and the University of Houston where he majored and earned his English degree. After graduation he began his career with Sheldon ISD substituting, and then working for USPS.
Forrest proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1976-1980. On September 8, 1979 Forrest married his sweetheart Corine Holy. Forrest was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and believed deeply in the scripture. He was also a member of the National Mail Handler’s Union. On August 31, 2006, Forrest and his family suffered the loss of his wife Corine.
He will be remembered for his gentleness, being loving, kind, and funny. Forrest was always joking and loved talking about his time in the Navy. His most memorable moments in life were the time he spent serving in the Navy and the birth of his daughter Jennifer Holy. He loved listening to “Yellow Submarine” and “I Want to Hold your Hand” by the Beatles. In his spare time, Forrest loved to watch movies and to make people laugh.
Forrest is preceded in death by his wife Corine Holy; daughter, Elizabeth Holy; mother, Margaret Holy; father, Louis Holy; sister, Ellen Redding; brother-in-law, Kenneth Redding; sister, Shirlee Thomas; and brother-in-law, Douglas Redding and brothers: Larry Norvell and Dennis Norvell.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Holy; son-in-law, Jason Hernandez; granddaughter, Alyssa Hernandez; grandsons, Jason Hernandez Jr. and Dreeson Hernandez; and sister Delores Redding; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with the funeral service on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at San Jacinto Funeral Home. Mr. Holy will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery at 1:30pm following the services. Attendees are to arrive in Lane 1.
