Floyd (Dick) Richard Feagin's Obituary
Floyd Richard “Dick” Feagin, 71, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, following an ever so brief bout with cancer. He was born in Elk City, Oklahoma to Floyd and Frances Feagin on November 19, 1943. He was a devoted son who helped to care for both his parents in their later years before their passing.
He leaves behind his loving soul mate and wife of 34 glorious years; Cynthia (Williams) Feagin, his children; son Randall Feagin and wife Magdalena of El Paso, his daughter Sonja Feagin Patterson and husband Rodney of El Paso, his step-daughter Catherine Murphy and her son Noah Allen of Houston, his sisters; Ann Tallet of LaPorte, Jean Newton and husband Jim of Florida, 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nephews; Greg Tallet and his wife Judy, Doug Tallet, Michael Kovacs and his wife Christy, nieces; Christine Christienson and husband Darrell, Nancy Whitehead, Sheri Austin-Newton Taylor and husband Kelly, and many other family members and close friends.
After spending his career working in the finance and banking industry, he retired from JP Morgan Chase Bank in 2001 to assist in launching a bank-owned startup company, Viewpointe, where he worked until 2006. A life-long Astros fan, he enjoyed spending his retirement time with his wife watching ballgames, eating good Mexican food and dabbling in the stock market online.
Dick was a strong, loving, patient and practical man with a lot of integrity and just a pinch of mischievousness. He would never want anyone to “make a fuss” over him, but he was always there to help those in his life who needed help – without any expectation to be repaid. He had an unassuming way of bringing calm to people and situations. He also had a playful behavior and enjoyed assigning colorful nicknames to his family members and friends, such as calling his wife Cindy, “WW”, which depending on his mood, could stand for Wonder Woman or Wild Woman.
Dick’s open, honest and fun loving nature made him easy to love and a joy to be around. He was a loving, devoted, and giving person who was taken from us much too quickly. His love and devotion to his wife Cindy was unfaltering through the years. He will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2014, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at San Jacinto Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015. A funeral service to honor Mr. Feagin’s life will be held Monday, January 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in San Jacinto Memorial Park.
