Felicitas “Feliz” Gutierrez, age 85, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 2, 1941, in Del Rio, Texas, Feliz was the daughter of Francisco and Rosa Aguero. From an early age, she carried a gentle strength and a generous spirit—qualities that would define her entire life. On February 26, 1962, she married the love of her life, Pablo Gutierrez, in their hometown of Del Rio. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and unwavering love.
Feliz was the heart of her family. A devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished grandmother, she poured her energy into creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and joy. She had a gift for making others feel welcome, whether through a home-cooked meal, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her calming presence.
She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—tending to her garden, cooking meals that brought everyone to the table, browsing her favorite shops, and treating herself to regular visits at the nail salon. But above all, her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride, and she embraced every moment with them.
Feliz is survived by her son, Paul Gutierrez of Houston, Texas; her sister, Maggie Crowder and husband Chuck of Anthony, New Mexico; and her brother, Dan Aguero of Del Rio, Texas. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Elias M. Silva, Paul A. Silva, and Krystal Longoria, as well as two great-grandchildren Joel M. Longoria and Daniel Longoria who brought her endless delight.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Gutierrez; her daughter, Sandra Gutierrez; her brother, Frank Aguero; and her sister, Teresa Aguero.
Feliz will be remembered for her loving heart, her quiet strength, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the memories she created, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
