Evangelina Escalante, 84, of Houston, Texas, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Houston. She was born on April 25, 1942, in Mexico to Jose and Francisca Escalante.
Evangelina dedicated more than 40 years of her life to her work with Mary Kay Cosmetics, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives. She was also a devoted member of Templo Galilea, where her faith was an important part of her life. Evangelina had a deep love for music and creativity—she enjoyed singing, playing the piano and guitar, and expressing herself through fashion, skin care, and makeup. She was also talented in sewing and crocheting, crafts she lovingly shared with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Esquivel, and husband Filiberto Esquivel of Houston, Texas, and Maria Theresa Pulido of Houston, Texas; her sons Jesse Rene Pulido of Houston, Texas, and Louie Sanchez and wife Ellie Sanchez, also of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her sisters Fela Castillo of Dallas, Texas, and Juanita Escalante of Mexico; and her brothers Adrian Escalante and Samuel Escalante, both of Waco, Texas. Evangelina leaves behind eight grandchildren, thirteen great‑grandchildren, and three great‑great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Francisca Escalante; her sisters Florinda Escalante and Petrita Escalante; and her brothers Lupe Escalante, Ernesto Escalante, Miguel Escalante, Silverio Escalante, and Leon Escalante.
Evangelina will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared so generously with her family and friends.
