Erin Juanita Bettes' Obituary
Erin was known as “June” by all who knew her and loved her. She was born in Delhi, Louisiana on June 5, 1932. Her family moved to Channelview, Texas where she spent most of her life and raised her own family.
June was a lady full of pride and tenacity. When her children reached school age, she went back to college at the University of Houston where she earned a bachelor’s degree and began a career of teaching. She continues her education earning a master’s degree in Education.
June retired early to help raise grand children. June dealt with Cancer for almost 5 years. It went into remission but returned in 2018. The chemo treatments were making her so ill that she decided she would rather live a quality life instead. While she was expected to survive for 6 months, her strength and determination took her through another year. Even when ill, June was a gracious and kind woman.
June passed away on April 30th 2019 at her home in Alvin, Texas. She was loved deeply and her son Tony and daughter Cyndi stayed by her side as she transitioned from this life to the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
June was preceded in death by her husband Harold and numerous members of her Hendrix and Bettes families. She will be sorely missed and remembered for her grace and mercy to others.
