Mrs. Elsie Jean Rabalais' Obituary
Elsie Jean Rabalais, 68, died Friday, May 22, 2015, 12:01 PM in her home with her husband, daughters and close family by her side in Houston, Texas after a long fought battle with cancer.
Elsie was born October 21, 1946, in Opelousas, Louisiana to Lawrence and Dora Allenday. There she met Sherrel Joseph Rabalais and on December 14, 1963 they married. After they were married, they moved to Port Arthur, Texas and eventually settled in Houston, Texas in 1967.
They recently celebrated 51 years of marriage with a big party, crawfish boil and band. Her interests were gardening and fishing but, she devoted her time and energy to loving her family, especially her grandbabies.
Survivors include her husband, Sherrel Rabalais and four daughters, Connie and Don McGee of Sugar Land, Texas; Tina and Ron Grant of Cypress, Texas; Tammy and Steve Sellers of Kingwood, Texas; and Amanda and Michael Ferguson of Richmond, Texas; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, Lawrence and Pat Allenday, Jr. of Pearland, Texas; Johnny and Michelle Allenday of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sisters, Linda Smith of Nicholson, Mississippi, and Mary and Phil Lebert of Hayes, Louisiana; along with many other close family and friends.
Visitation is being held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 11:00am - 8:00pm and Thursday, May 28, 2015 11:00am - 1:00pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1:00pm.
