To Brigette and family,
Thank you for allowing me into your lovely home to teach Elijah when he was a student. He could not have had a better home and a more caring family to look after him. He was so loved -and you made sure he had all the services and resources available.
I will never listen to the song Amazing Grace again without thinking of Elijah- especially his love for and responses to music! The days we brought in his music teacher to class were the most fun for all of us! We would place musical instruments in his hands and help him play along. He usually wore his school shirts and looked pretty amazing!
Another fun memory I have is when nurse Peggy and I were trying to engage Elijah in zoom lessons during covid - one time he was accidentally wrapped up in sheets Peggy was trying to unravel - and he seemed to enjoy the hilarity!
Being with Elijah taught us a lot about the more important things in life: caring, patience, compassion and love.
Elijah, your family will miss you so much but, as mom said, they are comforted knowing you are singing and moving freely in heaven and all is well with you there. We will treasure our fond memories of you here and are grateful and blessed for having known you.
