Douglas Allen Lusk's Obituary
Douglas Allen Lusk, aged 75, of Channelview, Texas, passed away on April 28, 2024, in Baytown, Texas. Born on May 7, 1948, to parents David Allen Lusk and Nell Lusk in Beaumont, Texas, Douglas led a remarkable life filled with service, passion, and community involvement.
Douglas served as a dedicated project manager at Camden for over two decades. His commitment to excellence and leadership left an indelible mark on his colleagues and the projects he managed.
During the Vietnam War, Douglas selflessly served his country as a member of the United States Army. His bravery and sacrifice will forever be remembered.
An avid sports enthusiast, Douglas found joy in watching baseball, particularly cheering for the Houston Astros. His love for sports extended beyond the stands—he actively participated in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Committee for over 30 years. Each year, he relished the Rodeo cook-offs and delighted in barbecuing for his family.
Douglas’s impact reached far beyond the rodeo grounds. For over two decades, he dedicated his time and expertise to the Channelview School Board, contributing to the betterment of education in the district. As a coach, he mentored countless young athletes, instilling in them the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
Douglas was a proud member of the Northshore Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. His commitment to these organizations exemplified his dedication to community service and brotherhood.
Douglas leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. His loving wife of 56 years Brenda Lusk, stood by his side throughout their journey. Sons Bart Lusk (and wife Amy Lusk) and Chad Lusk (and wife Shawn Lusk) carry forward his legacy. Additionally, Douglas is survived by his beloved grandchildren: Blayne, Avery, Logan, and Grant.
Douglas was preceded in death by his brother David Lusk and his daughter Tammye Lusk.
Douglas Allen Lusk will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His impact on the community, his family, and the lives he touched will forever resonate. May he rest in peace.
