Dorothy Louise Smith, age 89, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 22, 1936, in Sibley, Louisiana, to Floyie and Addie Holcomb, Dorothy lived a life full of love, warmth, and cherished memories.
On May 27, 1955, she married the love of her life, Charles M. Smith, in Houston, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family and shared adventures. Dorothy had a deep love for the beach, where she found joy in collecting seashells and soaking in the serenity of the ocean. She especially treasured family trips to Disney World, where laughter and togetherness created lasting memories.
Dorothy was known for her warm hospitality and her talent in the kitchen. She delighted in preparing family meals and hosting holiday gatherings that brought everyone together. Her home was always filled with the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals and the sound of joyful conversation.
She is survived by her devoted daughters: Charlene Green, Adrienne Fournier and her husband Ric, and Katherine Kingston and her husband Joe. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Kathy Tucker; seven grandchildren: Justin, Christianne, Ricky, Natalie, Addie, Nicole, and Joshua; and thirteen great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles M. Smith; her parents, Floyie and Addie Holcomb; and her precious daughter, Doreen Louise.
Dorothy’s legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
