Mrs. Dorothy A. Odle's Obituary
Dorothy A. Odle, 83 passed away on February 7, 2016 in Missouri City, Texas surrounded by her loving family.  She was the first of three children, born to Jesse Earl Lewis and Hazel Alene Lane on January 17, 1933 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Dorothy attended Central High School and went on to receive her degree in nursing from Arkansas Baptist Nursing School.  After graduating as a Registered Nurse, Dorothy worked for Sheldon Independent School District as the school nurse and retired in 1985. She met her husband, Dennis B. Odle and married him on June 30, 1970. Dorothy enjoyed her travels, especially to Clayton, New York in the summer where her and her husband had a home. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed bingo, bridge and Astro’s spring training. Dorothy was loving, caring, thoughtful and a precious soul.  She will be dearly missed by all those she loved.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Earl Lewis and Hazel Alene Lane.  She is survived by her husband Dennis B. Odle, sisters, Earlene Carlton and Margie Spears, daughter, Holli Hames Hay from Plano, Texas, son, Kevin Hollis Hames of Houston, Texas; stepchildren, Jim Odle of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jeanne Atkinson of Georgetown, Texas, Lanny Odle of Missouri City, Texas, Doug Odle of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Lindsay Williamson, Dylan Hay, Portia Hames, Hunter Hames, Tawnya Vowell, Landon Olde, Whitney Odle, Matt Atkinson, Lee Ann Butler, Kemp Odle, three great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation and Funeral Service will begin at one o'clock in the afternoon, with the service starting at two o'clock on Thursday, February 11 ,2016. Interment will follow all services in San Jacinto Memorial Park.
