Doreen Louise Whitmer's Obituary
Doreen Louise Whitmer, born on July 22, 1958, in Houston, Texas, to Charles Marvin Smith and Dorothy Louise Holcomb, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2024, in Houston, Texas.
Doreen was a devoted Disney lover, finding joy in trips to Disney World and the magic it offered. She was an avid reader with a passion for History and Political Science, particularly English history and the era of Henry VIII. Doreen cherished spending time with her family and was a true Daddy’s girl, eagerly anticipating their reunion in Heaven.
Known for her heart of service, Doreen always looked after and cared for those around her. She loved cooking and experimenting with new recipes, and she had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved furbabies, Benji and Lucy. Her strong Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Doreen is preceded in death by her father, Charles Marvin Smith. She is survived by her son, Justin Charles Whitmer, and his wife, Danielle; her mother, Dorothy Louise Smith; her sisters, Charlene Green, Adrienne Fournier, and Katherine Kingston; her grandchildren, Taylor, Ruby, and Dominic; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
In the words of Walt Disney, “Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever.” Doreen’s life was a testament to these words, as she brought joy, creativity, and love to all who knew her.
