Moore, Donna's Obituary
Donna was born on October 29, 1951, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and in the years that followed, she built a life defined by hard work, deep connections, and an ever-present warmth that made everyone around her feel valued. She moved to Caldwell, Texas, in 1965, graduating from Caldwell High School before setting her sights on Houston. There, she carved out a remarkable 50-plus-year career in the Title Insurance industry, demonstrating not only her dedication but also the intelligence and perseverance that made her such an asset to those she worked with.
But beyond her professional success, Donna’s true legacy is found in the love she shared with her family and friends. She was the kind of person who always had a smile on her face, no matter the circumstance. She had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and appreciated. To know Donna was to know kindness in its purest form. She never met a person who didn’t like her, and that was because she greeted the world with an open heart and an endless capacity for compassion.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Frances and Donald Leach, as well as her brothers Larry, Denny, and Dick Leach, and her sister-in-law Betty Leach. While we grieve their loss, we take comfort in knowing they have been reunited.
She leaves behind a family who adored her: her daughter Kimberly Kirby, her grandson Colten Watley and Tabitha Sturrock, her great-grandson Carter Rae Watley, and the soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter Camryn Watley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Beverly Leach, nieces Lora Layman and Debra Cooke, and nephews Jeff, Greg, and Mike Leach. They, along with so many others, were blessed by her love, laughter, and wisdom.
Donna’s life was a testament to the power of kindness. She taught us all, in the simplest yet most profound ways, that a kind word, a warm smile, or a listening ear could make all the difference. While she has now gained her wings, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
Today, we say goodbye, but we do so with gratitude—for the moments we shared, the love she gave, and the example she set. May we honor her memory by living as she did—with warmth, generosity, and a heart always open to others.
