"Doc" Lane Thornton Langford's Obituary
Lane Thornton Langford, (90), affectionately known as “Doc”, passed away peacefully in his home, on Friday, March 6, 2020 in Channelview, Texas. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday, June 28, 1929. Lane was the first of three children born to Ollie Langford and Mable Durrett Langford.
He met the love of his life Glynne Ellen Hartman and they were married on May 15, 1950. They had six children, who Lane deeply loved. He was the owner of many 18 wheelers and loved hauling 80' pipe cross country. In his early years he owned and operated a carnival.
He enjoyed watching game shows. He also liked watching boxing matches and listening to old country music. He loved deep sea fishing and truck driving.
Lane was a “Mountain of a Man”- his character can be summed up in two words, he radiated Strength and Wisdom. He loved his children deeply and his entire family was the heart and spirit in his life.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 70 years, Glynne; parents, Ollie and Mable Langford; baby-sister, Evelyn June Langford; brother, Eldredge “Buzz” Langford; and son-in-law, George “Dink” Roller.
Lane is survived by his loving children, daughters, Linda Hattaway and J.T., Choo-Choo Marlow and Marshall, Mellody Roller, Dene Milton and Vic, Lana Beach and Brian; and son, Dallas Langford; and sister-in-law, Mary Langford; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
