Desiderio Calzada Sr.'s Obituary
A much-loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son and Brother, Desiderio Calzada , 89, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at Memorial Herman at 3:51 A.M December 17, 2013 with his family present. He had passed away from natural causes. He was born March 11, 1924 in Brownsville, Texas, and resided in Houston,Texas for the past 27 years, having moved from Chicago Heights , Illinois in 1986 to Houston for health reasons. He served his country faithfully and joined the United States Army in 1943. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Desiderio married his life partner, Ernestina Loya, together they celebrated over 53 years of matrimony until her passing in 2000. To this union 8 children were born of which three are now deceased, Oscar,Jesus, and Gracelia. .He loved to spend time with his family, going to game rooms, watching sports, and puzzle books. He leaves to cherish his memories 2 sons Desiderio Jr and Victor (Peter), and 3 daughters Archie, Maria (Molly), and Ernestina (Tina). 28 grandchildren: 65 great-grandchildren: 17 great great-grandchildren and one brother Juan Wilson, with host of nieces,nephews,cousins,and other family members, loved ones and friends. Desiderio will be greatly missed.
