Delbert Claude Russell Jr., age 73, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Lyons, New York, on January 17, 1952, to Delbert Claude Russell Sr. and Margrette Charlotte Morales, Delbert lived a life marked by hard work, devotion, and deep love for his family.
He married the love of his life, Deborah Ann Foltz, on June 1, 1973, in Christmas, Florida. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, resilience, and cherished memories. Delbert began his career as a tire repairman in 1978 and later found his calling as an 18-wheeler truck driver—a role he embraced with pride and dedication.
Delbert had a passion for westerns, kung-fu films, and wrestling, and he could often be found enjoying a good movie or reading a western novel. He also loved playing video games on his phone and treasured time spent with family, especially during the holidays.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Ann Russell; daughters Angela Anderson and husband Terry, Lisa Russell, Charistina Russell and boyfriend Eloy, Melissa Russell, and Mary Herrera and husband Aldo Lee; sister Yvonne Tritch; nieces and nephews Tammy Cantillon, Jeff Contillon, Troy Spence, and Sherry Martin; and 11 beloved grandchildren: Jacobie Russell, Tristan Anderson, Xavier Herrera, Daniella Barboza, Nico Gallegos, Nathaniel Gallegos, Abbegail Herrera, Damian Lara, Avry Vazquez, Laila Jones, Tara Ashton, Leycie Ball, and his Great-grandchild Amelia Barboza.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Claude Russell Sr. and Margrette Charlotte Morales-Russell, and his sister Jo Ann Spence.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his strength, his humor, and the warmth he brought to every gathering.
