Barber, Deborah Kay's Obituary
Deborah Kay Barber, born on August 8, 1955, in Martinsville, Virginia, entered eternal rest on March 23, 2025, in Deer Park, Texas. Deborah was the beloved daughter of Roy Charles Bernard and Alice Irene Bernard, whose love and guidance shaped her life.
She dedicated over 20 years of her career to R.B. Services as a secretary before continuing her work with Citywide Maintenance. Deborah's commitment and professionalism touched many lives, leaving a legacy of hard work and kindness.
Outside of work, Deborah was an avid seamstress, crafting beauty and comfort with every stitch. She cherished time with her family, making precious memories and sharing laughter. A true social media butterfly, Deborah embraced TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, always staying connected and "in with the times." She also had a knack for baking desserts, delighting loved ones with her creations.
Deborah is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert Charles Barber, her parents Alice Johnson and Ray Bernard, and her brother Danny Charles Bernard. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her son, Travis Wayne Smith, and his wife, Priscilla Smith, along with her grandchildren Katie Ellen Smith, Alyssa Renee Smith, Kasandra Kay Smith, Robert Hector Smith, and Alexis Nicole Smith. She was blessed with great-grandchildren Karson Travis Joseph, Aria Ann Ledet, Lorenzo Miguel Tapia, Isabella Grace Tapia, and Dominik Angel Tapia, who brought immense joy to her life. Deborah is also survived by her cherished sister Tammy, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Deborah will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and vivacious spirit. Her love and light will live on in the lives of those she touched.
