David D. Duke's Obituary
David D. Duke, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Vietnam Veteran, passed away on May 15, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Born on September 24, 1946, to Ray Duke and Patricia White in Mexia, Texas, David’s life was marked by service, family, and cherished memories.
David honorably served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 during the Vietnam War. His dedication and commitment led him to retire as a Specialist V. His bravery and sacrifice will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
David’s heart belonged to his family. For 43 years, he shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Lilia Gutierrez Lindsey. Together, they created a blended family, raising six children: Kari Lynn Breding, Kevin Duke, Korey Duke, Viola Villegas, Sandra White, and Jesus Villegas. David’s love for his children knew no bounds, and he reveled in their joys and accomplishments.
David had a spirit of adventure. He loved the freedom of the open road, especially when riding his cherished Harley Davidsons. Road trips on motorcycles were his escape, allowing him to feel the wind against his face and experience the thrill of the journey.
When David wasn’t riding, he could often be found by the water’s edge, fishing rod in hand. The tranquility of the lakes and rivers brought him peace, and he relished the moments spent waiting for the next catch.
