Mr. Clifton A. Hughes' Obituary
Mr. Clifton Hughes, was born on January 24, 1938 to the late Albert and Alice Hughes in Savannah, Georgia and passed away on September 4, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Clifton married the love of his life, Ms. Judith Stoever on April 21, 1962 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Clifton and Judith enjoyed 54 years of wedded bliss.
Clifton was a businessman for over 50 years, he owned and operated Hughes Carpet Company, which served the North Channel Area and the surrounding areas. He retired in 2012 and enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
Clifton proudly served his Country for 4 years in the United States Marine Corps. He attained the rank of Corporal and received the Good Conduct Medal.
Clifton was honorable, giving, loyal, dependable and caring. He cherished his beautiful marriage with his wife, the births of his children and grandchildren. He loved fishing, hunting and his casino trips.
Clifton is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judith; children: Chris and wife Cindy, Tracy and husband Kenny: grandchildren: Kaylee, Summer, Christian, Nickolas, Rebecca, Jennifer, Olivia, Britney, Kayla and Landon: great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Elaina; brother, William; sister, Carolyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2016, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Chapel of San Jacinto Memorial Park and Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of San Jacinto Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Clifton will be laid to rest at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery following the service.
