in Channelview, Texas. She was 59 years old.
Born on December 21, 1964, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Claretha was the daughter of
George Billingslea and Doris C. Williams. Her life was marked by passion, love, and
service to others.
Claretha had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel. She explored different
countries, immersing herself in diverse cultures. Her culinary skills were unmatched;
she enjoyed cooking and had a special fondness for Caribbean cuisine. The sound of
waves crashing against the shore brought her joy, and she relished spending time by the
water, especially at the beach.
Her love for food extended beyond cooking—she had a sweet tooth and adored
pastries. But above all, Claretha cherished her family. Her nieces and nephews held a
special place in her heart, and she was a devoted godmother to Morgan Clark.
Claretha’s faith was unwavering, and she found fulfillment in serving God and His
ministry.
Claretha leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. She is survived by her
siblings: Annie L. McClendon and her spouse, Michael McClendon; Maethenia Jordan;
and Lisa T. Butler. Additionally, she is remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and
her beloved goddaughter, Morgan Clark.
