It made me so sad to read in the Houston Chronicle that Charlie passed away. Charlie was my manager at Zim. My deepest sympathy. I know that he will be missed.

Had dealings with Charlie during his years at Zim, they were fortunate to have him for an employee. Super nice guy to deal with, competent, professional, and loyal to his employer. Always pleasant and courteous, regardless of the demanding nature of the business. Thank you, Charlie.
I spent over 40 years with Charlie and have so many special memories and wonderful times with him. He was always a special friend.
I worked with Charlie in the mid 70's when he worked for Biehl & Co. and I worked in the Biehl Container Yard at the Port of Houston. Charlie was one of those rare souls who was ALWAYS pleasant to talk to, and, since he and I were directly involved in the booking and dispatch of containers for export, we always had a lot to talk about! Charlie always spoke honestly, even if it was an error of omission on his part, and there were very few of those. Charlie was a true profession of his craft, and managed to do it despite ignored deadlines and bad information. I never hesitated to call Charlie when there was any confusion about a booking, and he always offered the best clarification- as he knew it.
As I start my 52nd year on the waterfront, I have come to realize how truly rare and special Charlie LeBlanc was, as a person and as a working man.
Charlie, tell Rudy Compos how much I still miss him, and look forward to seeing you both on the other side.
Love ya buddy,
