Charles Allen "Paw Paw" Holland's Obituary
Charles Allen Holland passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday, October 15, 2022. He was born on January 9, 1945, in Houston, Texas to parents Maggie Sims and Esker Holland.
He grew up in Jacinto City attending Whittier, McReynolds, and Furr High School. He met the love of his life, Mary Johnson at Cook’s Roller Rink. They were blessed with 56 years of marriage when she was called to Heaven. We all know she had to go first to get the house in order. They moved to Highlands, Texas in 1970, where they would raise their family and live for the next 30 years. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Highlands. He was a loyal employee of the Sheldon Paper Mill for over 30 years. He and his son shared a love for baseball which allowed him to be involved with Highlands Little League as a coach for many years. He loved sharing the love of the game!
Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, coffee, and good music. He was the original Karaoke King. He shared his love of Western Movies with all his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his bride, Mary; his parents; his only sibling, Esther Kuekir; special aunt Opal; and son-in-law, Ricky Hennigan. Allen is survived by his daughter, Angie Hennigan; son, Robert “Bobby” Holland; grandchildren, Ashlee Holland, Samantha Hennigan, Jessica Lowe, Cody Holland, Breanna Holland, and Lyndsie Miller; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Hennigan, Blaze Persad, Lexi Miller, and Brooks Holland. Special daughter-in-loves, Tammy Kennedy and Elizabeth Holland; sister-in-law, Martha Zumwalt; caregiver Julie Mullinex, and his fur babie, Gracie.
Heavenly Father, I thank you with my heart's love for your wonderful blessings. I thank you for life, health and protection from harm. I thank you for all the good things and the happiness that have come to me through my home, parents, my teachers, my class mates and all those who love and care for me.
