Uncle Don, there are not enough words to describe how much I think of you.
I really did hope you'd be around longer so I could see you again. So glad Carrie , my granddaughter & I visited you & aunt Donna last year.
I will never forget the love you showed me throughout my life. The funny moments, smiling & laughing with you, your singing Merle Haggard songs, playing your guitar, along with my cousins playing and singing with you.
All the fun times visiting you, aunt Donna, Dawn, Kevin & Derrick, during my younger years. I have so many fond memories , including my children, Justin & Carrie, who are sadden to hear of your passing, too.
My dad, Joe Hewitt, loves you so much, and considered you his brothers. He knew you for 67yrs.
You & aunt Donna are the reason he moved to TX in '87.
Thank you for being an inspiration to me, my family and many others, as a wonderful husband, father , grandfather & great grandfather, uncle & friend.
Im tearing up just writing this. You will be missed so much....
Eternal peace now, until we all reunite with you, Uncle Don.
I love you,
your niece,
Debbie Hewitt
XOXOXOXO
Don was one of the first friends I made in US Customs when I came to Houston in 1965. I enjoyed many parties at his home during the years I worked there. Don had a great sense of humor and he was fun to be around.
I am so saddened to hear this. Don was a wonderful person and a great man. My deepest sympathies to Kevin, Donna and the the Gough family. Don will truly be missed. I offer my sincere apologies for dark days, and I’m glad to say that Don was my dear friend. R.I.P. Don. 🎼🎸
