Mrs. Carolyn Ann Vidrine's Obituary
Carolyn Ann Hayes Vidrine, age 58 passed away on March 10, 2011, 9:15 PM at St. David's Hospital in Georgetown, TX. She was joined by her husband, Rick Vidrine Sr., her sons Rick Vidrine Jr. and Christoper Vidrine, her mother-in-law Patricia Vidrine Rigsby, Joe Rigsby, and close friends as she fought a valiant battle with cancer and its many complications.
Carolyn was born in Pasadena, Texas where she attended Pyburn Elementary, Woodland Acres Junior High, and Galena Park High School. She was the lead twirler in the high school band. After graduation, she attended Sam Houston State University where she received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Sociology. Inspired to help those in need, she became a social worker and trainer for the Texas Department of Human Services. She was also a developer of curriculum and helped create workintexas.com. Carolyn also became interested in youth soccer in central Texas. She was affiliated with CAYSA, Round Rock Soccer Association, and the Longhorn Soccer Club. She was the registrar for many of the teams that Chris played for.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Rick Vidrine, Sr., sons Rick Vidrine Jr. and Christopher Vidrine, granddaughter Madison Vidrine, sister Suzette Hayes, brother Mike Faulkner, mother-in-law Patricia Vidrine Rigsby, Joe Rigsby, sisters in law Elyse, Trisha, and Christina Vidrine, and brothers in law Mike and David Vidrine, as well as nieces, nephews and countless friends.
She will be welcomed with open arms in Heaven by her mother Maxine Hayes, father Edward Hayes, and Aunt Bernice Lansford.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, March 18, 2011 at San Jacinto Memorial Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Norm Allen officiating. Interment will follow in San Jacinto Memorial Park.
