Carlos Ernesto (Ernest) Solis, Jr.
Carlos Ernesto Solis, Jr., was born in New Gulf, Texas on June 27, 1938, to Carlos, Sr. and Clara Solis. He passed away on December 17, 2019 at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Efrain and Grandson Carlos.
Carlos is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sharon. His children, Carlos Solis III, and wife, Dianne, daughter, Cynthia Solis, son, Craig Tatom, and wife, Jennifer; sisters, Elena Schumann, Adelina Cuellar, Margie Moreno and husband, Julian; sister-in-law, Gloria Solis; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ernest was an avid outdoorsman, and never missed a chance to go fishing. If you were a fisherman, you became his friend. He also loved gardening and deer hunting.
Ernest proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He retired from the City of Houston where he worked in the Police Department Body Shop. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus J.J. Babin, Jr. Council NO. 5236 in LaMarque, Texas. He was also a 4th Degree Member of Matthew H. Wilson Assembly Council NO. 1988.
The family wishes to thank ALTUS Hospice and the wonderful caregivers of Right At Home, Kingwood, who treated Ernest with the utmost care and respect.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 1:00pm -5:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 3:30pm at San Jacinto Funeral Home. A Funeral service begins at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 23 at San Jacinto Funeral Home with interment to follow at the cemetery with Military Honors Flag Presentation presented by the United States Marine Corp.
