Carlos Cortes Sepulveda's Obituary
Today, we celebrate the life of our beloved Carlos Cortes Sepulveda, who passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 87. Born on August 8, 1937, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, Carlos was the cherished son of Jose and Elisa Cortes.
Carlos married the love of his life, Martha Peña, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. His warmth and enthusiasm made every gathering special. He wasn't just a husband, father, grandfather, and friend; he was the heart of our family.
His unwavering love for family was evident in everything he did. Carlos had a passion for music, food, sports, dancing, and sweets. He had a way of turning ordinary moments into precious memories, whether through a spontaneous dance or sharing his favorite treats.
A skilled baker, Carlos spent 34 years perfecting his craft at Kroger. His dedication and love for his work brought joy to many, and his creations were a testament to his hard work and talent.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Martha Cortes; his children, Maria Cruz (husband Cosme Cruz), Veronica Benavides (husband David Benavides), Carlos Cortes (wife Kathryn Cortes), and Jerry Cortes (wife Sara Cortes, deceased). He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Maria Cortes, Elisa Cortes, Jamie Cortes, Herman Cortes, and Lupito Cortes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Elisa Cortes; his brother, Hugo Cortes; and his grandson, Jesus Manuel Cruz.
Carlos leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and joy. His kindness and warmth touched all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire us with the kindness and love he shared throughout his life.
We will miss him dearly, but we find comfort in the countless memories we shared and the love he gave so generously.

Hoy celebramos la vida de nuestro querido Carlos Cortes Sepulveda, quien falleció pacíficamente el 27 de mayo de 2025 en Houston, Texas, a la edad de 87 años. Nacido el 8 de agosto de 1937 en Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, Carlos fue el amado hijo de José y Elisa Cortes.
Carlos se casó con el amor de su vida, Martha Peña, y juntos construyeron una hermosa vida llena de amor, risas y familia. Su calidez y entusiasmo hicieron que cada reunión fuera especial. No solo fue esposo, padre, abuelo y amigo; fue el corazón de nuestra familia.
Su amor inquebrantable por la familia se reflejaba en todo lo que hacía. Carlos tenía una pasión por la música, la comida, los deportes, el baile y los dulces. Tenía la habilidad de convertir momentos ordinarios en recuerdos inolvidables, ya fuera con un baile espontáneo o compartiendo sus dulces favoritos.
