It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carlos “Cowboy” Alvarez III, a beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend who left us too soon at the age of 52. Carlos passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born on September 3, 1972, Carlos was a proud, generous, and passionate man who embraced life with humor, loyalty, and an unwavering love for his family. A man of great integrity, he was known for his fierce loyalty to those he loved, especially his wife, Elisa Alvarez, and his two girls, Sofia and Clarisa. His devotion to his family was unmatched, and he took great pride in being there for his loved ones through thick and thin. Carlos never left his parents' bedside when they became ill, putting his life on pause to ensure they received the care and love they deserved and needed.
Carlos never met a stranger and was a man of many talents. One of his greatest joys was gathering family and friends for a good barbecue. Whether grilling steaks or slow-smoking a brisket, hisfood and company were unrivaled. His infectious laughter, sharp wit, and sense of humor filled the air, ensuring everyone was left with a smile and a full stomach.
He proudly wore his cowboy boots, symbolizing his strong work ethic, humility, and grounded nature. Like him, those bootscarried him through life's journey with grit, determination, and an open heart.
Carlos was a constant source of love, support, and joy as an uncle and brother. His nieces and nephews will remember him as a man who always made time for them. His siblings cherished him for their deep bond, knowing that no matter the distance or the circumstances, Carlos would be there when they needed him most.
Carlos leaves a legacy that will continue inspiring all fortunateto know him. His spirit and impromptu puns will live on in the stories shared around the grill, and the love for him will never fade. Carlos leaves this world the way he lived it, as a generous man. As an organ donor, his last gift to this world was to the individual who received his heart.
Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Berta Alvarez. He leaves behind his wife, Elisa Alvarez, and their children, Sofia and Clarisa. He is survived by his brother, Juan Alvarez, and sisters, Ana Ortiz and Maria Alvarez. Nephews Josiah and Juanito Alvarez, Andres Bravo nieces Sarai Alvarez,Victoria Ortiz, and Viviana Bravo. Great nephews Elias Aguas and Sylas Aguas-Alvarez and Santos Alvarez.
A celebration of Carlos Alvarez III's life will be held at San Jacinto Funeral Home on March 20, 2025. All are invited to join in remembering the man who touched so many lives.
