Carlene Witte Thomas, age 79, of Livingston, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on October 4, 1945, to Carl and Irene Witte in Houston, Carlene lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to her family and friends.
On December 1, 1962, she married the love of her life, Wilber Thomas, in Houston. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in devotion and shared values. Carlene worked as a bookkeeper for many years, bringing diligence and care to everything she did. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life.
She was a cherished member of Port Houston Baptist Church, First Baptist Jacinto City, and then finally Church on the Lake in Livingston. Carlene found joy in nature, crafting, baking, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family.
Carlene is survived by her daughter Geneva Boyett and husband Doug Boyett of Houston, Texas; her son Darwin Troy Thomas of Livingston, Texas; her sisters Florine Smith and Earline Ackley and husband Bill Ackley; her granddaughters Kristen Boyett, Megan Potter, and Brittany Ashabranner; and her seven great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
She is preceded in passing by her husband Wilber Thomas, son Carl Thomas, granddaughter Pasleigh Thomas, brother Darwin Witte, brother-n-law Kenneth Smith and nephew Darrell Smith.
In honor of Carlene’s nurturing spirit and love for nature, the family kindly requests plants in lieu of flowers—living tributes that will grow and flourish, just as her love and memories continue to do in the hearts of those who knew her.
