Nació el 30 de enero de 1927 en Altamira, Los Ramones, Nuevo León, Mexico hijo de Antonio Peña y Carmen Suárez. El 6 de febrero de 1950 unió su vida en matrimonio con el amor de su vida, Herminia Cortez Peña, en La Posada, Los Ramones, Nuevo León, Mexico formando un hogar lleno de cariño, trabajo y unión familiar.
Candelario disfrutaba profundamente estar en el campo, montar a caballo y practicar el lazo. Su amor por la vida rural reflejaba su espíritu fuerte, noble y arraigado a sus tradiciones. Sobre todo, valoraba los momentos compartidos con su familia, a quienes llenó de sabiduría, alegría y un amor incondicional.
Le sobreviven su hijo Santos A. Peña; su hija Matilde Peña; sus nietos Ruben Isauro Balderas, Santos Ángel Peña Jr., Jennifer Crystal Peña y Oscar Anival Peña; sus bisnietos Ruben Isauro Balderas Jr., Rodrigo Isaac Balderas, Santos Peña III, Kassandra Alexis Peña, Oscar Peña Jr. y Osias Peña; y sus tataranietos Adelyn Karina Peña y Vincent Peña.
Le precedieron en muerte su amada esposa Herminia Cortez Peña, así como sus padres Antonio Peña y Carmen Suárez.

Born on January 30, 1927, in Altamira, Los Ramones, Nuevo León, Mexico to Antonio Peña and Carmen Suárez, Candelario grew up with a deep connection to the land and the traditions that shaped his life. On February 6, 1950, he married the love of his life, Herminia Cortez Peña, in La Posada, Los Ramones, Nuevo León, Mexico beginning a beautiful union built on devotion, hard work, and family.
Candelario was happiest in the fields, riding horses, and practicing the art of lassoing. His love for the outdoors reflected his spirit—strong, steady, and deeply rooted. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, whose lives he enriched with his wisdom, humor, and unwavering love.
He is survived by his son Santos A. Peña; his daughter Matilde Peña; his grandchildren Ruben Isauro Balderas, Santos Angel Peña Jr., Jennifer Crystal Peña, and Oscar Anival Peña; his great‑grandchildren Ruben Isauro Balderas Jr., Rodrigo Isaac Balderas, Santos Peña III, Kassandra Alexis Peña, Oscar Peña Jr., and Osias Peña; and his great‑great‑grandchildren Adelyn Karina Peña and Vincent Peña.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Herminia Cortez Peña, and his parents Antonio Peña and Carmen Suárez.
Candelario leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family unity. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the values he instilled will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
