Betty Ruth Trevathan's Obituary
Betty Ruth Standley Trevathan was born January 13, 1929 in Helmic, Trinity County, Texas to Bertha and Grover Standley, and passed away on October 1, 2021 at the age of 92. She was blessed with loving parents, two sisters and three brothers all that have proceeded her in death. During World War II she met A. B. Trevathan and shortly after the end of the war they were married and had 56 wonderful years together. These years were filled with a very special love for each other and their pride and joy, their son, Steve Trevathan.
She worked for ARMCO STEEL for ten years and 26 years for GALENA PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT, retiring in 1995. She was an active charter member of the Uvalde Baptist Church, where she filled many places of service for the Lord. She sang in the church choir; and, she served as a director of a Sunday School Department. She participated in the church nursing home ministry. She was active in the senior citizen group Keenagers. She volunteered in the church office and other places as needed. For many years, she was active in Retired Teachers Association. She very much liked to stay busy. She will be greatly missed by her son and family as well as her church family and many friends.
