Betty Jean Maywald's Obituary
Betty Jean Maywald, age 80, of Splendora, Texas went to Heaven on May 31, 2022.
Betty was born in Donna, Texas on April 13, 1942 to Mary Jane and Ernest White.
Betty only received an 8th grade education in the public school system but she did not let that hold her back from obtaining her real estate license and creating a thriving business. Betty fought hard to help many of her family and friends to reach the “American Dream” of home ownership.
Above all else in her life, Betty cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. Betty was a true matriarch and her family came before everyone and everything. She would take her grandchildren on yearly camping trips, scour the stores every Christmas for the perfect gifts for her children and would host yearly holiday parties at her home that would rival most hometown football game crowds. She accepted her role as a loving mother so passionately, that she adopted her grandson, Joshua and raised him as her own.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Donald Maywald, grandson Adam, great granddaughters Nicole and Savana.
She is survived by her sister, Hazel Berry and children: son, Virgil (Gina) as well as daughters, Debbie (Bruce), Sherry, Paula, Laura, and Cathleen (Mike). Betty was also a grandmother to 24, great-grandmother to 53, and great-great grandmother to 2.
