Betty Faye Jones' Obituary
Betty Faye Soffes Jones, age 81, of Channelview, Texas, passed away on April 3rd, 2025, in Baytown, Texas. Born on January 11th, 1944, in Baytown, she was the daughter of John and Amelia Soffes.
On January 16th, 1962, she married Eldon Doyle Jones. Betty dedicated her career to serving as a custodian at Channelview Independent School District.
Betty's heart was forever tied to the great outdoors. She found serenity in fishing, casting her line into tranquil waters under the Texas sun. Her love for nature extended to her beloved dogs, whom she cared for with boundless affection. An avid animal lover, her compassion for all creatures great and small was evident to everyone who knew her.
Never one to shy away from hard work, Betty found unexpected joy in mowing grass, delighting in the fresh scent of a newly cut lawn and the satisfaction of a job well done. Her evenings were often spent enjoying heartfelt stories on the Hallmark Channel, where tales of love and family mirrored the values she held dear.
She is survived by daughter Lois Faye Lang and husband Ken Lang, and Melba Sue Jones. Her sons Sam Wendle Jones, Tracy Vernon Jones and wife Sheila Jones, and Ralph Wayne Jones and wife Wendi Jones. Her brother Cecil Soffes and Pat Soffes. Her multiple grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon Doyle Jones. Her parents John Soffes and Amelia Soffes. Her siblings Gus, Jessie, Johnnie, Tommy Lee, Roy Soffes, Jesse Lee Sanders, and Amelia Mae Holstien.
Betty was a beloved mother, wife, and friend. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit lives on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.
We will always remember her for the love she gave and the joy she brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear Betty. You will forever be in our hearts.
