Barbara Ann Talley's Obituary
Barbara Ann Talley, 79, of Houston, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014. She was born in Crockett, Texas on August 8, 1934 to the late John Vernon and Gertrude Smith of Arbor, Texas. Barbara graduated from Galena Park High school, class of 1952 where she was affectionately known as "Put-Put". She was married to the late William Talley for 69 years where they lived together in Houston, Texas. While there, Barbara and her husband "Billy" owned and operated Talley's Barbecue House on I-10. She played the piano for many years at Second Baptist Jacinto City and was a member of HLSR Souvenir Program Committee which was dear to her heart. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband William H. Talley and brother Roy Lee Smith. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jason Heyse; and her son, John William Talley Sr. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren Mandy Begley (Jim); Brad Heyse (Tiffany); Johnny Talley Jr., and great-granddaughter, Harper Grace Begley. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 5-6 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The funeral service will follow immediately at 6:00 at San Jacinto Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015. All services will be held in the chapel at San Jacinto Memorial Funeral Home.
