As a young man, Mrs Blanchard was always kind and thoughtful. When I dropped in to visit Scott, she always invited me in for gumbo, delicious but the hottest gumbo I ever tasted (of course, Mr Blanchard’s preference), and ice tea. I also remember Barbara as an early adopter to exercise, she had all the latest equipment, and kept herself in great shape. Which was quite innovative for women during that time period. Barbara was a wonderful and very special person who always made me feel like family. We shared great memories. I will always have a special place in my heart for her and her family.

Sad to hear of Barbara's passing. She and my Mom, Irene Thornton used to run the Health and Fitness Centers "Presidents First Lady" as we were all growing up!! Those two were hoots back then!! Loved that lady!! Sending hugs and prayers of comfort for all the family. Cynthia Hays
