Ashley H. Daniels' Obituary
Ashley Hollis Daniels, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. He was born in Albany, Louisiana, on Thursday, June 13, 1935 to Alvie Hollis Daniels and Mary Vida Burnham Daniels.
He graduated from Galena Park High School where he played the Tenor Saxophone and was a member of his HS band. He then started his first job in a bakery. Ashley decided to enlist in the United States Marines Corp in 1956 where he proudly served for two years. In 1960 Ashley met the love of his life Connie Sue Hanes and two years later Ashley and Connie were married on September 21, 1962. They traveled together to Alabama, Mexico, and Cancun.
He relaxed to John Wayne western films but also enjoyed the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, camping, and deer hunting. He would also take long drives where he would cruise in his red vehicles.
Ashley was very hospitable and was always entertaining at home. He had a wide circle of friends. He never met a stranger. Ashley was a "Social Butterfly". He was a generous soul and a good neighbor who always gave a helping hand. Ashley was known for his many different stylish hats.
He was preceded by his parents, a younger brother, Danny Keith Daniels, and nephews, Keith Allen Godfrey and Jeffrey Lynn Haugland.
Ashley is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Connie Hanes Daniels, sisters Bonnie Godfrey and Pauline Haugland, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
