Arturo B. Olajay's Obituary
Arturo B. Olajay, aged 79, of Channelview, Texas, passed away on April 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 13, 1945, in Manila, Philippines, Arturo was the son of Hugo Olajay and Rica Bautista.
Arturo found joy in cooking, gardening, and exploring new places. Whenever the family gathered, he delighted them with his version of the Filipino sweet rice cake, affectionately known as “bico” in our dialect.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lorna Olajay, and their children daughters Anna Liza Olajay-Abarquez and her spouse Victor Abarquez, Abigal Olajay and her spouse Cesar Rocha, and son Alexis Olajay and his spouse Roxanna Garcia.
Arturo’s legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren Antonio Luis, Elizabeth Ann, Paloma Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Rica Bautista, and his siblings Rosie Garing, Lourdes Napisa, Purisima Pecayo, Pedro Cajano, Mariano Jose Garing, Cunigunda Garrido.
In lieu of flowers, Arturo’s family and friends kindly request donations to be made to their church parish at St. Andrew Church.
