Artie M. Doublin's Obituary
Artie was born on August 5, 1935 to Walter Clark and Morline Robinson. She was raised in Bosco and Monroe Louisiana. Artie started her education there and continued it in Houston. She took up catering and made this her career. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to sew for herself and others. With this talent Artie was commissioned to do many professional jobs.
Artie married Forrest Doublin. To this marriage Forrest raised and loved Carolyn Clark as his child.
Artie was a faithful member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. Her main ministries were with the Culinary department and Martha’s Circle until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by Morline Atkins; mother, Walter Clark; father, Forrest Doublin; husband, Carolyn Clark; daughter, Gertrude Fluellen; sister, Rosetta Moore; sister, and Arthur L. Atkins Sr; brother. She leaves to mourn her brother David Atkins, loving relatives and friends.
