Ann Wood's Obituary
ELIZABETH ANN WOOD
Elizabeth Ann (Harris) Wood, 76, of Houston, TX, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 at home surrounded by her family, after a long struggle with COPD.
She was born on October 19, 1943 in McIntosh, Alabama, the daughter of the late John Mason Harris and Lillie Bell (Webb) Harris. Her family moved to Texas in 1958.
Ann graduated from Galena Park High School in 1962, the same year she and Bobby got married. Ann was in real estate for 35 years, and she loved her job. It gave her so much satisfaction in knowing that she helped so many people find their dream homes. She made many friends along the way as she treated everyone like they were family. She was a long-time member of Holy Trinity United Methodist Church.
Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert (Bobby) A. Wood, her sister, Belinda McCain (Phillip), her children, Darrell Wood of Kenefick, TX, Tammy Kiper (Scotty) of Porter, TX, Debbie Wood of Kingwood, TX, and her grandchildren, Leslie Wood, Jeremy Kiper, Lindsay Wood, Sarah Spencer, Katie Kiper, Erin Spencer and Joshua Kiper. She also has numerous nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.
The family wishes to thank everyone who helped care for her during her long fight with COPD. Ann had many friends, and she was known on Facebook as “Granny A.” She never hesitated to like or dislike something her grandchildren were posting. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by her brothers George (Sonny) Harris and James (Jimmy) Harris.
A private viewing and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at San Jacinto Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, TX 77015. Everyone is invited to attend the burial scheduled for 2:30 PM. Shannon Bowdoin will officiate.
