Ann S Mueller's Obituary
Ann Styles Mueller, age 90, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025. Though no words can fully capture the warmth, kindness, and fierce love she gave so freely, we honor her life with the gratitude and affection she so richly deserved.
Ann was born on January 8, 1935 to Herman Marvin Styles and Dorothy May Paul. She was a 1953 graduate of Sheffield High School in Sheffield, Alabama. She had a short career working in the family floral business and as an office assistant for a large lumber company before devoting her time to raising seven children with Marvin, her loving husband. She raised all seven children with boundless love, patience, and strength, creating a home full of laughter and life. She somehow made every child feel like the center of her world, and her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her own family.
She enjoyed being a room Mom at her children’s schools and held several PTA positions. She gave her time and heart to her community. Whether she was baking or creating hand-crafted projects for a classroom, she gave her all – and she did it with a smile and a sparkle in her eye. Ann developed many enduring and lasting friendships while volunteering at her children’s school.
Her love for Jesus and her family were the highest priorities in Ann’s life. She was our safe place, our guiding light, and the heart of our family. Her hugs were healing; her laughter was contagious. Her kitchen was always filled with warmth and the smell of something delicious on the stove. She had the rare gift of making everyone feel seen, heard and unconditionally loved. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness.
In her free time, Ann had a special talent for growing and nurturing beautiful flowers. Her love knew no bounds, and her absence leaves a space no one else could ever fill. Ann lived her life with grace, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose. While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life – a life that touched so many and made the world a softer, kinder place.
She is survived by her five children, Deborah Shanks and husband Henry, Niles McWilliams, Kathy Ladner and husband Ty, Richard Mueller, Christy Horner and husband Nathan, and her ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, husband Marvin Mueller, daughter Susan Kliever, son David Mueller, daughter-in-law Cheri Mueller and great-great grandchild Ella Grace Alexander.
Family will receive other family and friends on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM for a visitation with a funeral service following at 12:00 PM in the chapel at San Jacinto Funeral Home.
