Anita Sue Pond's Obituary
Anita Sue Pond, 73, of Channelview, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in Channelview. Born on February 24, 1952, in Heavener, Oklahoma, Anita was the cherished daughter of Robert and Pearl Hight.
On August 5, 1969, Anita married the love of her life, Wendell Keith Pond, in Houston, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. Anita was a dedicated professional, working for many years as a tax preparer with H & R Block and later in accounting at Alexander Ryan Marine and Safety.
Anita had a passion for traveling and a love for singing that brought joy to those around her. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Anna Wright, and her husband Mark of Channelview, Texas; her sister, Mary Ruth Doggett of Wichita, Kansas; her brother, Fred Hight and his wife Liz of Heavener, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Keith Pond; her sisters, Laverne McKenzie, Marie Milligan, Joy Bullard, and Martha Naylor; and her brothers, Ralph Hight and Marshal Hight.
Anita’s legacy of love, strength, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in Mrs. Anitas honor.
