My dear friend, I have found myself at a loss for words the past 7 days.
Where do I begin? We go back a long way, yeah? From flying together to TBarM in seventh grade…to having your dad drive us around in his convertible after discovering we had made the drill team, honking his horn in celebration the ENTIRE way home…to flying out to visit me when I was working in L.A. …to driving 8 hours with newborn Madison to share and marvel at what precious life you and Barrett created…to providing much needed support during my single mom phase and vacationing in Galveston with our wee ones and imagining a future for Austin and Josie as they had professed their love for one another on the beach —at four years old…to you and Barrett hosting my girls on my wedding night so I could enjoy the first night of wedded bliss with my husband—SO MANY stages of life we shared together.
But it’s the next phase I can’t wait to enjoy together…where we are eternal souls in Heaven, kicking it in God’s kingdom! I remember trying to share my knowledge of the Bible and Jesus’ promises with you over the past few years and would try and mix in worldly analogies to pique your interest.
We were watching Bravo’s Million Dollar Listings and as we oogled at the beauty of certain houses, I excitedly shared with you not to feel envious as Jesus said he was going to be preparing our Heavenly homes for us in John 4:2, and P.S. they might be mansions, bro!
You were also excited to hear we get new bodies in Heaven (where we feel zero pain)—and according to the little kid who wrote “Heaven is For Real” NOBODY is old in Heaven—everyone remains the picture of their youth. You said, “Sign me up, sister!”, and I said, “You’re already invited, dude. When you accepted Jesus, that is the invitation that keeps on giving.”
I want you to know that I will remain in your kiddos life for the rest of my time on earth. Knowing Maddie, Austin and sweetest Max has been a profound privilege, but continuing to watch them achieve major milestones as they grow? It will be an honor, dear friend:)
Until we meet again, Angela…Love you BIG!
