Adrian Earl Dowdy's Obituary
Adrian Earl Dowdy, age 90, of Pearland, Texas, entered into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Born in Flint, Texas in 1935 to Dock Roth and Erma Lee Dowdy, Adrian spent his early years in East Texas before the family settled in Channelview.
A proud patriot, Adrian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1953 shortly after his 18th birthday. He served with honor for eight years, including time stationed in Okinawa, Japan, and continued his commitment to service through the Marine Corps Reserves until around 1973.
Adrian’s professional journey was as diverse and hardworking as the man himself. He managed Edward’s Medical Supplies in Galveston, worked as a diesel mechanic for Gulf Western Construction, and later became an independent truck driver, delivering goods across the country. His passion for motorcycles led him to earn certification from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute as a Harley-Davidson mechanic, eventually working at Stubbs Cycles in Houston until his retirement.
Adrian had a deep love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and spent countless hours in his garage tinkering with bikes, cars, and trucks. He and his beloved wife Nadine shared many memorable road trips together and were active members of the Christian Motorcycle Association, where they built lasting friendships and shared their faith on the open road.
A man of strong convictions and quiet generosity, Adrian was a devoted member of Providential Baptist Church in Pearland and proudly served with the American Legion Post 554.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Nadine Schiller Dowdy; his son, Nathan Dowdy; his parents, Dock Roth and Erma Lee Dowdy; and his siblings: JR Dowdy, James Dowdy, Morris Dowdy, and Joyce Hines.
Adrian leaves behind a loving family: his daughter Rebecca Pardue and husband Don of Beaumont, and his son Kent Dowdy and wife Tammy of League City. He was the grandfather to Stefan Smith, Forrestt Smith, Seraphina Pantoja-Smith, Emily Serrano and husband Matthew, and Brittany Martinez; and a proud great-grandfather to Alizayah Garcia, Briley, Brissa, and Jency Martinez, Jr. He is also survived by Faye Robins, the mother of his children.
Adrian’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched—with his steadfast spirit, his love of the road, and his unwavering devotion to family, faith, and country.
