Adelphia Talmadge Murphy 87 went to be with her Lord Thursday November 27, 2008.Adelphia was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Feb. 25,1921. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Dewitt and Fannie Heath; husband, Howard Murphy and sister, Jerrinita Breaux. Adelphia lived most of her life in the North Shore area in Houston, TX where she and Howard (husband) raised their family. Adelphia was a charter member at Uvalde Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and vacation bible classes. She was employed at the Cimmaron Elementary school cafeteria until she retired and relocated to Hot Springs, AR. And later to Efie and Sunset, Louisiana where she lived 15 years until moving to Baytown, TX to be near her family. She is survived by;
Sons, James P. Murphy and wife Doris, Houston; William D. Murphy, Baytown and Jerry R. Murphy and wife Debra, Deer Park, Texas.
Daughters, Patricia Thibodeaux and Bonnie Sue Murphy, Baytown, Texas. Grand children: Pat Murphy and wife Sarah;, Austin, Texas; Julie Ann Murphy, Houston, Texas; Chris Moore and wife Sindy, Baytown, Texas; Misty Murphy, Kailua, Hawaii, Jennifer Wright and husband Derrick, Channelview, Texas and Jessica Hartmann Houston, Texas
Great Grand Children: Christopher and Brook Moore; Ryan and Jack Murphy
Great, Great Grand Children: Anthony and Madison Hartman and Jasmine and Aaliyah Wright.
Niece: Diane Anderson and her son Glen Eric Anderson, Tomball, Texas
Visitation will be on Monday December 1, 2008 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at San Jacinto Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Officiating: Rev. Bonnie Parker.
